Ok all you reloaders out there I need your help. I have 90 grain Hornady XTP bullets. The powders I have on hand are, WSF, H-380, Longshot, Clays, R-19, R-15, and, Blue Dot. Is there a load out there for for that bullet and one of those powders?

clays is starting at 4.5 for 1150fps max is 5.3 at 1300fps. this is out of the 6th edition hornady handbook. laymans list the blue dot at starting 7.0 for 1072fps to max at 8.9 at 1341fps. hope this helps out;)

Longshot, 6 - 7 gr. with that bullet. Listed in Hodgdons manual under 90 gr speer GDHP, but itll work for the XTP as long as you start at 6 and work up.

Your best bet is to call Hornady ( http://www.hornady.com/ ) and ask them what powder to use and how much of it to use.

I looked in my Sierra Reloading manual and it lists 90 gr JHP with only one of your powders: Blue Dot 8.0 g to 10.0 g. . 1300 to 1450 fps. with 10.0 g being a "hunting load".

Ditto, and if your need more loading info but don't want to purchase the manuals, go to the internet sites for the gun powder makers. They generally offer loading data, I print off many of these offerings and use them along with my manuals. Helps keep you updated with the latest too.
