I am looking for an Inner magazine tube for a Remington Model 12 repeating rifle. But this one has to be for a .22 Rem Special not the ordinary short, long and long rifle gun. It is about 16 1/2" long and is slightly larger diameter than the ordinary sizes. I have tried Numrich Gun Parts and they only handle the standard size and are sold out of those. In fact I bought one of those and there is no way to modify it so it will work with the Rem Special shells. This gun was my Grandfather's and I would really like to return it to operating condition.
I sure hope someone has some information on where I might find this part!
Brownells shows an inside tube for the Winchester 90 in WRF, which should be good for the Remington .22 special as well. It is 20" long but of course can be cut. The stock number is 895-699-000AC. You can go to their web site and check if they still have them. Cost in my catalog is $25 plus s&h, but they may have gone up. Check www.brownells.com for more info.
If they have it, you can order it and return it if not right as long as you don't mess with it.
Jim, thanks for the information! I went to the Brownell site and ordered a tube which is even supposed to be for my Remington 12 this morning. I will let you know how it comes out but you have helped tremendously already. Thanks again.
I received the inner tube today and it is too small. It will fit a regular .22, but not a .22 Remington Special. I'll have to call them and arrange for return and see if I can get a different tube that is larger.
