BROWNING D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE 9 mm, serial number 61776, BROWNING PATENT DEPOSE, engraved some symbol as a man or lion and underneath P.V and beneath letter A with a star above the letter. On the barrel there is a crown with inside letters LG A, and the same letter A with star on it, and lion / P.V CAL. 9 mm. P. from the left side of the trigger there is number 6 and on the other side number 8.
Can someone please tell me exactly when it was made and where, and what the right value for this pistol?
I have 2 magazines and the original wooden brown grips.
I try to upload photos but didn't make it.

Thank you,

So much conflicting info in that thread. One thing that seems to be correct, though, is telling the age by the SN is difficult, as they had several different SN runs.

Mine. Buenos Aires police gun. Marked as such on the gun. SN S-06xxx.

It's made BEFORE 1963 - has an internal extractor.

It's made AFTER 1960 - no notch (the "thumbprint"?) for the takedown pin.

So I got it down to a three-year window. But the exact year it was made, by THAT serial number? Not a clue.
