This item was found in a box of gun parts. Initially, I thought it was a knife for a knife-pistol, but now I'm not too sure. It has a serial # of 100529. It is completely flat on one side, and the serial # side is sculpted.
Can anyone give me a clue as to what it is? Thank you in advance for your help.

There is one pointed end on the blade, on the other end is an end with the SN and a hole in it, and there is a prong beside that. Looking at the END of that prong, does it appear to be broken? It is pointing UP in the first two pictures -
Serial number would seem to imply military or government issue. That said, I think I'd put my money on it being a component of a WW1 barbed wire cutter - either bayonet lug mounted or hand held
I was trying to remember where I had seen those wicked little blades before, it was nagging at me, I knew where but I couldn't remember where, nmckenzie's post was like a kick to the head. I have seen two very similar blades affixed to the end of a WW I SMLE. They were wire cutters.
Thanks to you all for your inputs. I think RJ is on the right track, but I haven't been able to find a picture of a military wire cutter that matches to this blade.
