Z Auto Pistole made in Checklslavakia.
6.35mm palm sized with 99% original bluing, really good condition, mabe a five shot magazine and original box. Z on both black basketweave grips. Serial 24XXXX.

Any ideas as to the value of this little piece?

Made around when... in the 50s?

    Need a pic but

The only CZ 6.35 (25 Auto's) from that period in my book are
    the Model 1945 DA Pocket
    1945-1950
    Value around $200

The other could be the Duo it has Duo on the grip
    1926-1960
    $185

    Thanks. :)

It sounds like this one is along the line of the 1945 DA Pocket. Something else I found on it gave a price of $100 to $200 but there wasn't a photo either. I would have posted a picture normally but I don't have one and my camera has been borrowed.

I read there is one with Duo on the grip but this one has a Z.

But wait.... this one is single action and if the DA stands for double action it's not the one.

The 1945 is DA and 8 shot mag

The Duo is SA and 6 shot mag

These are the only 2 CZ 25 ACP's in my book maybe some has a better book :D

On a Duo the date of manufacture is usually stamped on the left side of the frame just under the slide all the way back. These pistols were very popular with German officers during WWII and were carried as a hide out gun. Collectors buy the ones dated with WWII years (1941-1944), and these bring a premium price of at least $300. If it has an original holster and spare magazine, nice ones can be worth up to $500.

Bud, The "Z" is one of three pistols out of the Czech Republik, Identical , except for logo. One is the "Z", one "DUO"; the other may have been marked "CZ"; I've forgotten, for the moment.
All are identical, Browning design, single action, striker fired autos.
I would not give over $200US for any of them, though they are very well executed arms, and, well finished, though somewhat plain.
The vz 33, and vz45, are both double action only pistols, the 1945 version dropping the thumb safety of the earlier pistol, un needed, since it is double action, only. These pistols are of the general profile of the Astra Firecat, with a bobbed, but exposed, hammer, while the "duo", "Z", et.al. resemble the 'Baby Browning'. Hope this is some help.

Did you ever get any more info on this pistole? I have one that is exactly the same, but SN 189XXX. I'm looking for a magazine for the pistole. Any idea where I might find one?
