Recently was shipped a box of bullets labeled .38. Special 147 grain, plated round nose bullets, in .357 diameter, (original order was for .38, 148 wad cutters). I have been unable to find load data for this bullet. Would like to use either, Bullseye, PowerPistol, or Unique powder. Any help would be appreciated. I know that the 147 is basically a 9mm round, but the bullet diameter they sent be does measure .357.

Data for a slightly heavier bullet should do nicely, just develop your load from starting and work up carefully.

    Cartridge: 38 Special
    Load Type: Pistol

If .357 is the diameter you want, you are good to go with the exception
of bullet seating depth, which is normally different between a RN
and a wadcutter......but not necessarily always true.
147gr vs 148gr ........not squat in difference.
Plated projectiles, I use lead bullet data.
148gr lead [or plated] RNFP I use 3.7 - 4.1 grains of 231 with an
OAL of 1.40" giving me approx. 900fps and 15,000 C.U.P.
    I shoot mainly revolver.
    This testing was in a 4" bbl , 1 in 18 twist, .357 dia

    P.S.
If I use Hornady lead it is .358 dia
If I use Berry's plated it is .357 dia
