    Interesting and unfortunately True.

    Amen!

    .HAVE A GREAT ELECTION DAY
A great article. One of the most intellectual human beings in this country, hits it right on the head ! ! !

Occupy Wall Street by Thomas Sowell
    By Dr. Thomas Sowell

The current Occupy Wall Street movement is the best illustration to date of what President Barack Obama's America looks like. It is an America where the lawless, unaccomplished, ignorant and incompetent rule. It is an America where those who have sacrificed nothing pillage and destroy the lives of those who have sacrificed greatly.

It is an America where history is rewritten to honor dictators, murderers and thieves. It is an America where violence, racism, hatred, class warfare and of murder are all promoted as acceptable means of overturning the American civil society.

It is an America where humans have been degraded to the level of animals: of defecating in public, having sex in public, devoid of basic hygiene. It is an America where the basic tenets of a civil society, including faith, family, a free press and individual rights, have been always rejected. It is an America where our founding documents have been now shredded and, with them, every person's guaranteed liberties.

It is an America where, ultimately, great suffering will come to the American people, but the rulers like Obama, Michelle Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, liberal college professors, union bosses and all other loyal liberal/Communist Party members will live in opulent splendor.
It is the America that Obama and the Democrat Party have now created with all the willing assistance of the American media, Hollywood, unions, universities, the Communist Party of America, the Black Panthers and numerous anti-American foreign entities.

Barack Obama has brought more destruction upon this country in three years than any other event in the history of our nation, but it is just the beginning of what he and his comrades are capable of.
The Occupy Wall Street movement is just another step in their plan for the annihilation of America.
"Socialism, in general, has a record of failure that's so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it."

Dr. Thomas Sowell (A National Humanities Medal Winner)
-- The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are out numbered by the people that vote for a living.

    Thanks J H.

Just a thought or better yet a question to ponder and perhaps get some of your thoughts along with those of Mr Sowell.

Does it bother anyone that we now have at least one or two generations of kids who cannot recite the Pledge or recognize our National Anthem?

And that the very small groups of athiests are constantly and without challenge removing God or even the word or a reference to Him from every aspect of our lives. YET Muslims are and can openly worship, write about, speak and teach their philosophy even in our schools, including indoctrination of our children.

    Just wondered.

    IMO , UF .........
The unions ( including the teachers unions ) are so totally socialistic that they are on the verge of destroying our entire way of life .... the only exception to that socialism being our "Professional Politicans" and the life style that we have allowed them to establish for themselves.

They can put their New America where the sun don't shine, I'm not done with the Original America by a long shot. I'm almost 60 and a veteran, raised in the midwest, in the country, but there are many more like me, city raised, ranch, etc., WE CARE, WE MATTER and WE VOTE. We need to make a united effort to vote for what's best for OUR AMERICA.

Amen, brother. The November elections are quite possibly our last shot at setting things aright.

For the record, our son can recite the Pledge, the Ten Commandments, the books of the Bible, and the entire alphabet. Can't speak for most of the other younguns, who seem to spend their days texting and twizzling and playing z-box (or whatever those things are) and finding odd places to get inked.

The day after he graduated high school, I had him research the Bataan Death March, and we talked about it for 30 minutes. That was part of my graduation present to him, one of my final steps before he went off to college. And I told him when life sucks, and you're down, and it seems everyone's against you, remember those heroes, remember their perseverance, and remember what men are capable of on both sides. And occasionally, I'll mention Bataan to him, and he knows exactly why.

I agree with Ed...there are many of us like minded people who refuse to go down the toilet with the rest of the country. I just wonder how far it will have to go before average people say no more!

    Very frustrating!!!

You are preaching to the choir here my friend. I think we all feel the same way and are going to do everything we can to keep or make it great again.
But you are right, we MUST get the lame and lazy off their butts to get out and VOTE. If not, we are in serious trouble and even then we may be on more trouble than we even think.
If Geo Soros even thinks O is going to lose, they already hav everything in place to continue to grow the unrest and street fighting to a point they can declare Martial law and no elections. Just a thought but with some background.

It is what is happening in our schools, government ste local and federal and in our courts that scare me to death.
Some courts have already granted Sharia law to be observed or practiced or whatever you want to call it.
This is not hearsay, it is true. Who are these judges, are any of them in your area and what if anything have you done to stop this abomination.

Sharia law!!! This is the USA and we practice our law based upon the Constitution, what the hell are they thinking and apparently going unchallenged or at least at this point. A couple of them have been overturned but it goes on almost daily.

As far as where we are raised and our different and backgrounds I feel most if not all the people who gather here are most serious about this country and it"s welfare. But none are blind to what we see and read every day now and I wonder what if anything we are doing to stop this or to make a difference.

I too am a Vet and well over 60 or 65 and raised on a working cattle ranch and spent 27 years in corporate business and owned and operated my own business for more than thirty years. None of which is worth a pinch of puppy poop if I don't make my senators and congressmen and school officials and judges aware of how I feel and work to get others to do the same EVERY DAY.

BUt right now we are failing and our kids and our country are losing. ^0 million plus now on the govt dole and who do you think they will vote for? HHHMMMMM!!!
It now pays more per year to stay home and receive govt handouts than the average income earner makes per year by several hundred dollars and growing so the earners will continue to decline and the takers will continue to grow. So where will this end.

Our system as we know it cannot sustain this and it will collapse and neither party can or will stop it. They created it so how can anyone expect them to fix it.
They will continue to feed at the trough and continue to give them selves more, bigger and better golden halos.

I've received this several times in recent years - don't know who wrote it...

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them..

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 535 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason.. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 535 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 535 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 535 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red ..

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 535 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 535 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

    Read the last sentence again.

    I agree.

We should vote out any and all unethical, immoral, drunks, selfish and fools.

So that would rid of us all and that means at every level of government.

Give them a salary, period, the same retirement plans we have and the same medical insurance we have and if they want a cabinet or more helpers they can have all they can afford to pay.

And yes, if they wish to travel to and from Wa to campaign or to see their families, they pay their way just like you and I. That is why we have our families move with us if and when we are forced to do so for our jobs etc.

Until this happens we will never see any of the SS or medicare or any of the other issues like our debt resolved or changed in any manner.

Complete collapse of our economy is only a matter of time and as I said, it cannot be stopped. Maybe slow it down a little but not stop it. Just a matter of time.

I watched Waiting For Superman today. It is meant to draw attention to the power ( the most powerful ) union in the US, teachers... But, the program, if viewed as what the overall state of American has declined to, says it all about who we are, and who we aren't, anymore.

We are no longer responsible for ourselves. The government, and the unions are. They're going to take care of us all, like it or not.

I'm so convinced that we are being sold out, I believe the wording " One Nation, Under God ", will be changed to" One Nation, Indivisible ". :(
