No electric for 6 days!! Man 6 days no elect and this is the first time I am able to connect on the net since 1-27-2010...

I am sure glad we bought 2 generators in sept 2009. A real life saver. Some people were paying over $1000 for an 8,000 watt generator.. We only paid $569 for 2 4,000 gen.

We are total electric when we lost power we were dead. There is still no power for most of Marlow, Ok. and surrounding rural homes.

That's awful! Good thing you have generators and it seems like everything is okay.

Glad to hear you got power back, just in time to get ready for the next round. :D

I am sick and tired of shoveling all this global warming.

I am in Edmond, OK. Just north of OKC.

Make sure change the oil every 50 hours of run time, as per Manufacturers instructions.
Thats every two days if run continuous.
Most people don't, and they die young.(the Gens.)
Also, store with fresh oil, if stored with run oil, the moisture in the old oil seizes the pistons solid after a couple months storage.

I've been to Marlow and Lawton...Thank you for keeping that weather up above the Red River.

I do hope you are able to keep warm and toasty til thaw, but you can still keep it up there :)

Wow! Glad you and yours are safe! Friends in Marlow say 10,000 power poles fell and they just got back power too, he told me last night. Dang! I remember back in '90 or so when straight-line winds blew down 11 miles of powerpoles near Lawton... That was one scary night. Carry on and keep the gensets handy.

Also, are those the honda lookalike engines? If so, they really like clean oil as I'm sure you will read or have heard here.

I'm in OKC, we lost juice for a part of a day a couple of times. We are lucky, and we are within 3/4 of a mile from the power plant so that reduces our risks...

Will they work with 1 1/2 feet of snow on them? How well do they fare in Hail storms or 70-90 mph wind gusts?

If they are rigidly mounted will they break in a severe earthquake?
