Anyone have any idea what this gun is? My grandfather bought it from Bannermans about 1000 years ago. I've seen the same pistol advertized in a reproduction Sears catalog from 1902:

    :)Hello Sir,
I have tried finding the crown oner the DN without any luck. However it is a British smoth bore for sure, around 58 or 60 cal, from looking at the pics. Both the cutlass & pistol are military in my opinion. Price wise for them I have no clue. Is there any markings on the blade? Are you wanting to sell, or keep in family? . Maybe one of the other members can chime in with more
    info?
    Take Care
    Kindest Regards
    Danny

    Hi Danny,

I posted the cutlass seprately on this thread:

    http://www.thefirearmsforum.com/showthread.php?t=68576

All the markings are visible in those photos. The sword dates
in the 1840s so it's not as old as the gun.

We aren't looking to sell. I just would like an idea of value.
    Thanks!

A Belgian military flintlock from the early 1800's. Some were made for Belgian use others for export. It looks like it's in great condition.

Here's an ad from a reproduction of a 1902 Sears and Roebuck catalog.
The pistol on the page looks exactly like this one. I think my Grandfather got it from Bannermans but perhaps Sears got some from there as well:

When I have a little more time I will post the text of the ad.
