Hi there, I have an old shotgun I've been told is an H&R and I was wondering if anyone could help me with some identification. The only markings on it are on the side of the barrel and on the underside. On the side it reads: Patented Oct 2 1894-Aug 11 1888 - Model 1865. On the underside it reads: 319 25. There also looks like a "U" stamped into the barrel. Thanks for any help.

If there are no markings, what led your adviser to believe it is a H&R?

Need pictures of the gun and of the markings. Pull the wood off and see if there are any hidden markings.
