It's not really referenced as old-model/new-model per se, but the grip changed starting in late-1974 or 1975 with the 151- serial number range according to my Hogue and Pachmayr catalogs.
I don't have an older one to compare to so I'm not sure exactly what changed.

Yes, the 151-xxx is the 'new' or 'changed' version. The main difference I recognize is the shape of the grip frame. The rear strap has more of a 'bend' in the middle than a curve. The grips DO NOT interchange.
I believe that the butt of the gun went from rounded to square.
