Going to order a custom barrel for my Thompson Pro Hunter in .218 Bee. Was wondering what barrel length I should go with. Probably doesn't matter too much, just looking for thoughts. Leaning towards just 21". Can go from 16" up to 30" basically. Going with a Shilen full bull barrel. Don't think I will spring for fluting or a comp on it.
Small cartridge just a 1/4 step above a 22 hornet, looks like a 21" barrel should give you a full burn. No comp needed for sure and with a heavy profile barrel its going to recoil like a 22mag.
No hunting with it. I have some featherweight .223s that I would hunt with or I would throw the .300 BLK barrel on my Thompson.
