Ok guys, this is something I need a little help with. I'm no expert on optics so anyhelp will be appreciated.
I want a variable power scope to get me out a ways. I would prefer a mil dot or similar reticle. I think I've got it narrowed down to three or four choices so if you have any experience with these give me your opinion. Going to try to avoid canted base.
Base: Probably go with this Burris two piece base:

Rings, Probably Burris extreme tactical.
For the scope, the guy that runs the club I shoot at really liked the Nikon Monarch 4-16x50. Pros, etched reticle, clear glass. Cons, only 50 MOA vertical adjustment, I really would like up to 24 power.

Or Maybe this Vortex Viper 6-24x50
A little adjustable, etched retical but MOA reticle and I have no experience with Vortex products.

This Weaver 4-20 is a FFP scope and looks like a good value...only 55MOA vert. adjustment.
trying to hold cost to about $1,000 or less.
Any other suggestions would be welcome
