howdy scrubmeister and welcome to TFF. Glad to see you jump right in there and start posting. Our resident experts should be around shortly, so stand by. What information are you looking for?

Here is a link to the CVA site who makes your aforementioned smoke pole.

I'm not familiar with that one, but would like to be. Why don't you pick one up and drop by so we can blow some smoke together. :D

I've been very satisfied with my CVA guns and have met many who are, also. You read complaints on the various sites occasionally, but I've yet to see any complaints which I didn't consider nit-picking.

    Welcome to TFF.

I shoot a 250 grain bullet with 2- 50 grains pirodex pellets. Works well out to 200 yards with no drop. I hope this helps anyone new to black powder

just was looking at it the cabela's book.

my self I have the optima mag. the big diffrence between the two is the barrel.
the optima pro come's with a 29" fluted barrel and the optima mag come's
    with 26" barrel. non fluted

the fluted barrel has grove's cut in to the length of the barrel to light'en it up.
the added 3" is for more long range accuracy.

on the rest of the rifel. It's the same as the optima 209 mag.

buying the fluted barrel for mine soon.

.45 or .50 cal. for both barrel's 1:28 twist on both cal.
