No, they just went into soft and cuddly mode. :) I guess they're all done being soft and cuddly since we have Dear Leader, who is soft and mushy.

We let the Russians buffalo us back in the 50's with their careless swagger and talk of preemptive strikes if we didn't play by their rules. The truth was, they never had any intention to engage us in an actual shooting war. Now that the old Soviet Union is no more, the Russians are in even worse shape than they were back then. They have trouble feeding their own people let alone start a war with us.

IMHO the problem is that we are coming off as weak and having no stomach for real war the way we have pussy-footed around in Iraq and Afghanistan and Viet Nam before that. Fighting a war according to the Marquis of Queensbury's Rules has never worked before and will not work today. They watch us let two-bit camel jockey's and opium growers whittle away at our brave young soldiers a few at a time until the cost in lives and money sickens the American people and weakens their support for our troops. This emboldens the Russians as it does the North Koreans and Iranians. They shake their fists and rattle their sabers until Obama and his Czars wet their pants and literally pay to get them to back down. They also know that we would be foolish to try and fight 3 wars at once so they can afford to talk big. If we turned those missiles and aimed them at them and dispatched a nuclear carrier and flotilla and started launching planes to do fly by's I'd bet you couldn't find a Russian leader out of his rat hole for a comment.

Our government has dragged our country to the depths of despair on every front. If we have to go down, at least give us the chance to kick the asses of those who made my generation hide under our desks in grammar school while waiting for the big flash and fireball back in the 50's. This time let's get the war reparations they still owe us, and then some.

Just this week, Putin stated on their nationalized TV, that he would order a preemptive strike on our bases in Europe that were in the process of building the so-call Iranian missile shield.
