Depends on Uncle Sam's whim every 3 yrs.
I really like the M42...I just haven't convinced myself to like the price on that one. :D

For now I've got some cheaper balisongs...fun to flick around, good stress relief.

Agreed Delta, it is pricey and like you say, the cheap ones work for now. :D

Carver, thanks for the info, sounds like I had it half right, as usual.

Davison that is a fantastic looking knife, looks very sturdy, have a link or website? I agree with Delta on the Balisongs being very good stress relievers, mine has very heavy stainless handles that tend to give my knuckles a beating after a good session however LOL. I like the Benchmade WeeHawk, if i am remembering correctly.http://www.knifecenter.com/knifecenter/bnchmd/images/bm42.jpg

Two of (2) ever made. These are ground by the late, great Jody Samson.
These blades are completely hand ground. How anyone could grind something that symmetrical by hand is beyond me.
    True works of art.

Here's one you don't see too often. It's a Victorinox "Mauser" Swiss Army Knife. It was retired in the mid 1980's.

Just found this forum, and while looking for a place to contribute for my first post, I found this thread. It’s old, but I do have a photo to contribute. I like knives, but never carry them around. This one was hand made locally for me as a retirement gift. The handle is made from a redwood burl.

    That is gorgeous!
    Nice looking blade also.
    have some quilted redwood
for the handle of a blade
    design i've been working on.
    I collect old mistreated blades,
and give them life. they all get used:)

Gold beach is just down the rd. about an hr. or so.

Welcome to the forum from Coquille

Thanks. The knife is very heavy and well balanced and a work of art. I’ve probably flown over Coquille more than I’ve driven thru it over the years.

    Gotta be careful flying around
    Coquille, unless yer high up.
We have a few around here that take offense
and have no compunction of tossing a few
    rounds. Oregon hillbilly's, what can i say:rolleyes:
The guys in the black helicopters carry and shoot back.
It's so funny, I don't think anybody has ever
    hit anything tho.:D:D:D
