I only have limited information at the present time, but i hope it is enough to give me some idea as to the value of this gun. My father in law said it is a 12 Gauge, forged steel shotgun. On the barrel it says,"Stevens Savage Arms", Mod. 940, with a 2 3/4 chamber. I realize it's not much information, but maybe someone can help get me started. Thank you for your help.

    Hi Brett.......welcome to TFF. :)

The Model 940 was just a later version of the Savage/Stevens/Fox Model 94. This was an inexpensive, utility-grade, single barrel break-open, shotgun. Generally speaking, the values are:

    Exc - $150
    V.G. - $100
    Good - $75
