Looking forward to the next gun addition with some questions in mind. It will be a .45 acp. Thinking of a Kimber, Sig, CZ, or Colt, no specific models in mind but will be a gun on the high $ end, want the best. I know all the guns are A-1, but looking for good AND not so good on these. What do YOU think??

If I were going to pay big bucks for a 1911, I would go with the Wilson, but since my RIA will shoot a 5" group @ 25 yards, I don't need to. :D

Seriously, I'd go with the Wilson.

I would like to own a Wilson one day. That would be the pick I would make. My second pick would be a Dan Wesson Valor but good luck finding one. I have a 1911 Sig and it is an excellent weapon but does not fall into the premium price range.

Good luck on your search and welcome to the forum.

Why not just step to the head of the class? Drive to Knoxville, TN and ask Bob Howard to build a .45acp single-stack Caspian set-up for you. Go with rails and a Kart target-grade barrel. It will produce 1" or less groups at 25 Yards, and will deplete your bank account accordingly.

Wilson... but if not that then get a Sig P220 in 45acp. Hard to go wrong with a Sig!

In your case, Wilson (if you want to spend the big bucks).

If however, I just wanted a 1911 (I do, perpetually) and could only pick one, I'd get a Colt Commander!

With Springfield Armory being a close second. Wilson, third.
