I haven't been on here for a while because life (and death) keep happening. You might have seen on the news about the PA State Trooper that was shoot and killed. That happened a few miles from my home. I knew the Trooper as well as the shooter and his family. Just a very sad situation. A young rookie officer taken from us way too early and 2 families forever changed and harmed. 2 mothers who lost sons. Just so incredibly sad. Please keep both families in you prayers. As a local pastor and Chaplain of the fire department where the police barracks is located, it has been an intense week!

Sounds like you've got your priorities in place. Thanks for caring for those folks.

No, officially my duties do not cover PSP, but because I know many of the troopers and one is a firefighter and my niece's fiancée is on the PSP SERT team that was involved in the shooter's final moments, there is some carryover in an "unofficial" capacity.

I have been told personally and heard it related so often by others that domestic violence
responses are the most dangerous and most unpredictable... Further, visiting with law
officers and fire response people say the 'live-in' type situations always seem so very dangerous.
Yes I do...seems that where I live and some of both fire and police have a position in and
around the college right across the street from me, have occasions to talk with them...on
hot days to offer some cold water to those is the same with our mail
delivery people...a cold drink of water...what a simple and friendly be waved
at by some uniformed person, passing on the street...feels good.... Chief
