Presidential election 2012: What I fear, and what I hope to see.

Obviously, my biggest fear is that the big ZERO will be re-elected, but specifically, my fear is how that may happen. Here is what I'm thinking.

So yeah, dear leader is slipping politically in the polls, especially when it comes to managing the economy, however, he remains pretty high in polls when it comes to his 'likeability'. Now you and I know, THAT should not matter when it comes to running the country, but we also know that probably most Americans are not truly informed or care enough to educate themselves about political issues. With the media (except for Fox news and people like Rush, Hannity, etc...) firmly on his side, obama has been transformed into the biggest celebrity in the world. And we all know that America loves their celebrities.
While I believe more Americans are realizing what a spectacular failure this guy is (as evidenced by the slipping economic polls), I fear that if he makes even modest gains in getting unemployment numbers down, if the GDP even slightly appears to be growing, and if he can make it appear that he is halfway getting a grip on spending, then that may be all he needs to convince the dumb arses who supported him first time around, to all think, "well, things seem to be getting better - better vote for him again".
    So I think it's a 'catch-22'.
If the economy shows even the slightest gains, especially when it really gets close to the actual election, I think that may be enough to get him re-elected. Yet millions are suffering (including many on this forum) because of b.o.'s policies thus far. We all want things to improve NOW, but if they do, then he will get the credit, and very likely (in my opinion), re-elected.
So the argument is, IN THE BIG PICTURE, I wonder it would be better if we have to just hold what we have and deal with it for one more year in order to get rid of him.

Remember, I am talking the BIG PICTURE, long term strategy.

I know some here have lost jobs or have been financially devastated. You need relief NOW!!! Believe me, my heart goes out to you. But I know my sympathy does not pay your bills. I fully expect to get some butt-chewings for even presenting this idea. But for the 'Greater Good', is it preferable for things to remain as they are to keep b.o. from being seen as 'saving' the economy, and therefore, being re-elected?

You KNOW that we CANNOT survive four more years of his Socialist policies.

So, the above is what I fear.

What I hope to see is a LANDSLIDE victory for which ever Republican candidate gets the nod. Not just a Republican win in a close race, I mean a resounding victory for us. Perhaps that will convince me that there are still enough Americans who truly care about the future of this country, and that maybe we are not totally screwed after all.
We can, and we MUST regain our status as the preeminent country in the world. Maybe we will have to suffer with a crap economy for another year, but we cannot give b.o. ANY ammunition to use on the fickle, uneducated, uninformed voting populous of America. Sadly, they will have a great say in next years election.

O.K., fire away. I will go put my asbestos britches on!

No flame coming from this end, brother. You're right.

When a POTUS does little but make speeches, go on vacation, appear on talk shows, and hobnob with "celebrities", he's catering to a big chunk of the populace - those who just want to party down, carefree, and be wealthy for doing nothing. So for them, BHO is the ideal man. Like some deadbeat on American Idol, he accomplished nothing in his life, and "made it big".

I got a LOT of encouragement in the November 2010 elections. I am really starting to believe that enough Americans have awakened to the fact that their country has been hijacked. They can no longer think their vote doesn't matter.

He can never win in a free and fair election. That brings up my concern

    No flame form here either.

Was listening to a gal on the radio the day before the 'ones' latest speech before congress (heretofore unheard of called gathering). What's new?

She was saying that all Obie had to do was come up with some sort of 'simplified' tax reform. Once passed and signed into law. If it failed, he could say, "Look, I tried and it didn't work. It's the republicans fault". If it worked, he could go on and on about how he saved the country. So I'm thinking, OMG! Don't give this guy any ideas! And her next statement was, 'but I don't think he could bring himself to do it'.

Nope! The idea could have easily gotten him re-elected, but his ego got in the way (again). If compromise doesn't get +1 in his direction, it's a humilifying experience, and he can't have that.

The guy has serious mental issues. Many of them in fact.

I am with you on this one. I saw a quote somewhere on line this past week that put an interesting twist on America's ability to go on. It went something like "America CAN survive four more years of Obama, but it cannot survive four more years of the people that elected him."

I was encouraged by the election in 2010 too, but since then it's been the same blame game we have heard for three years, and it's going to ratchet up starting soon.

This is my concern as well.

A few years ago, my ballot was 'undeliverable as addressed' and I was denied my vote for our governor. Never had a problem before or since.

Last year, my sons vote was discounted on a local school levy, because his 'signature' didn't match the one they had on file. WTF!:mad: They asked him to come downtown and provide proof of himself.

Maybe it's just me and him, but I don't think so. I firmly believe we are targets.

You got no job, and the Prez is trying to extend your un-employment checks for another year, who ya gonna vote for? You have never had a job, and the Prez wants to take money from the rich and give it to you, who ya gonna vote for? You don't have health Ins, cause you don't make enough money to buy it, but the Prez want's you to have it anyway, free to you, but at the expense of those who can afford it, who ya gonna vote for? I was watching a show last week, can't remember which one, and the gal there said that it was possible for him to get re-elected based on his popularity, and the fact that Congress can not get anything passed due to the Prez, and the Senate. Now take a look at Ron Paul, a man who has a plan, and the way the GOP is dealing with him. They don't want someone like him in the contest, why? For the life of me I can't see anything good on the horizon at this time.

I have said this before. We have too many unqualified people who have been given the vote. Dont buy gold . Buy plenty of guns ,ammo, food, and water . then buy silver if you feel it necessary because when it hits the fan the only thing your paper $$$$ will be good for is starting fires or wiping your a-- !!!!
