Little info on me. I have a Lee Turret press I like. But i want to buy a progressive. I mainly reload .38 and 357 mag. i will eventually get into reloading other pistol calibers but as of now thats what i reload. what do you all recommend and why?
What is the difference between the dillon 550 and 650? what do you all think of the hornady AP progressive and the dillons? (The Differences between the two. pros and cons?)
    any help would be great.

I have a Dillon 550B and I love it. The 550 is a 4 station press with manual indexing (which I prefer). The 650 is a 5 station press with auto indexing.

I also load .38 on my Dillon 550. Its a great machine and would highly recommend it. Its easy to set up and learn on. It will last for a long time and Dillons customer service is top notch. Parts can be found used and on the cheap so you don't have to pay alot out of pocket for new equipment.

That being said the Hornady has also got great reviews and a few other reloaders I know prefer it over the dillon. I have not seen it in action so I will suggest research is best.

The whole thread LD pointed to is pretty good. Check out the link on response # 18 too.

thanks for the posts they are very helpful. #18 was lengthy but a very good read and #20 did a great job on filing me in on the differences between the 550 and the 650.

    Thanks a lot
