Q: I am interested in purchasing the CZ-52. What has my interest is that it can be 7.62x25 and 9MM with the addition barrel I see advertised.
How does the conversion work as well as the same clip feeding both ammos?
The conversion requires only that the barrel be changed. The magazine works with either cartridge. With some CZ's the extractor must be slightly fitted, but most require no modification. For some years 9mm barrels have showed up from various companies and vendors. Most recently Makarov.com was selling the barrel assy. complete for around $80, I believe. They quickly sold out and Makarov say it will be a year before they have more. The barrels are fabricated from blanks gotten from CZ and then rerifled.
Some vendors sell only the barrel which requires the addition of rollers and keeper.
Makarov sells the complete assembly with high quality Harrington rollers.
I would imagine only while the 9mm barrel is installed. It is then not "as issued".
So now the question would be "Do you need to log it out of your bound book every time you install the 9mm barrel and then back in when the 7.62 barrel is reinstalled?"
I had mine finished-reamed to 9x23 Winchester-a "MAGNUM" 9mm Largo. The CZ52 is a very strong action and handles the 9x23/9mmLargo with no issues whatsoever. 125gn JHP at 1450fps makes it a fantastic self-defense round. I found that the 9x19 barrel was an iffy proposition-the magazine is made for a longer cartridge-the shorter 9x19 cartridge will clear the mag's feed lips and "free-jump" into the chamber. I had a lot of FTF's because of it. Using a 9mmLargo or 9x23 solved the FTF problem 100%. We have used the CZ52 loaded with 9x23 rounds to dispatch several big wild boar down here in South Georgia...

The CZ-52 has slide cracking issues with 7.63X25 and 9MM, Your gun, your decision, but IMO you are asking for trouble using the 9X23
