I have plenty of data using 168grain A-MAX and mostly Varget but some IMR-4064...all crono'd. Let me know if your interested.
    * All the loads are safe in my rifle but I can't assure you the same in yours.

Hodgdon web site lists the load as 42.0 - 46.3 grns........

I looked at the Hodgdons website. They list loads for a Hornady 165 SP, and the max is compressed. I checked Hornady's website, and the 165 SST is longer than the 165 SP. If you use the SP data, and the SP OAL, then the max load will be even more compressed.

Yet one more reason why I don't shoot max loads.

The Lyman #49 manual gives the Starting charge for the 165 grain bullet as 39.0 grains of IMR 4064 and the Maximun charge of 44.5 grains and it shows that as a compressed load.
