So who else is a fan?
I laughed a lot when he shot the .44mag, he almost fell off his chair in the "pistols" episode. Seemed to have regained his composure for the .500 S&Wmag shooting.

But I'm curious. What is that stupendously large ring he wears? I assume it's a Marine thing. Takes up a whole joint of a finger.

I saw the artillery episode, Ermey is hilarious. It's nice to see such enthusiasm.

Speaking of the movie Full Metal Jacket...

He's still friends with Pyle even after being killed by him in the movie. :D

  6. I've been watching the episodes too, in fact, I recorded one last night to watch when nothing else worth watching is on next week. I get a kick out of Ermey. What make his shows even better is that he is the genuine article, a real soldier who went there and did that.

I love the gunny. I have been a fan since watching Full Metal Jacket when I was about 12 or so. I have it on DVD and watch it prolly atleast once a month. I was a devoted "mail call" fan before I quit watching television shows altogether. Hes a great personality and I would really like to meet him some day...

    Great pic, Gunhugger!

"Private Pyle, why do you have a jelly doughnut?!!!!!".
    Awesome movie!

By the way, I don't know if it is true or not, but I heard a story some months back that while driving to an event in Montana, Ermy saw a bag on the side of the road. Story goes, he stops to check it out and finds that it is a bank deposit that somehow got lost. Supposedly, he took the bag to the appropriate bank in the next town and made the deposit! Anyone else heard this story? Any truth to it?

Like Pistol, I tape it for later viewing...like when the wife is upstairs watching HGTV. I have no clue what the ring is but I wouldn't expect a Marine to wear something so large and ostentatious.

I like the history cnnects in each show.....from primitive to modern day.

I record every episode because it is on while I am at work. I just got through watching the pistol episode! Man, did you see the shock to his arm as he fired the 50? That makes me NOT want one of them!

Met him at the NRA convention with my wife in St. Louis. He was extremely kind to her when she mentioned that my son had just lost his best buddy in Iraq and thanked him for his service. He is a gentleman in the real sense of the word. We enjoy his shows.

He needs to wear eye protection ALL the time, when shooting.
I think he is sending the wrong message, by not doing so.

I agree withthe safety message, pickenup. I noticed in the "pistols" episode that he was using expended (I think?) brass for earplugs!

In that same episode I got a laugh when the .44mag nearly unseated him!

In the handgun episode, I thought that he described the Glock 18 as only available to LEO's and active military. Is that correct?

As it appeared to have selective fire (full auto) capability; I would imagine that Glock strongly discourages sales or transfers to private individuals...even second hand sales with BATF approval.

They make (or have made) other products that they did not want in the hands of the US public.
