My whole town is underwater and has been on the weather channel. The suwannee river is about to come out of its banks and many people in my town have already been evacuated. The rain continues to pound and no relief is in sight. So far, I am safe but if it doesnt let up soon, who knows. We have got 22 inches so far I think.

It's still raining. If the forecasts can be believed, it will rain for the next 18 hours. Lots of homes damaged, roads and property underwater, trees down and lots of big limbs.

Saying folks in Florida are used to it is incorrect. Yes, it a seasonal thing, but nobody gets 'used' to waiting for their home to be damaged to the point it can't be lived in until insurance companies do what we pay them for.

Tornadoes are always a threat in a system like this.

All anybody can do is sit and wait for it to be over. Fingers crossed.

I have lived thru NUMEROUS hurricanes and I cant remember the last time we were hit this hard with rain and this isnt even a hurricane. It has to be back in 98 when it was this bad.

Fox has had us up hourly. No rain like this in years. I had to leave one of my cats overnight at a vets ( refused to pee ). It's torrential, has been since 3 something. Went to get in my wife's car, she has mine, and the freekin drivers door is cracked open, and the seat is a sponge.

Got to the freekin vets, no place to park, parked next lot over a half block away. SOAKED going in, more soaked coming out carrying a cat carrier. Auuuuugh.

We've been in every Florida hurricane since 79. Hurricane Elena sat off Clearwaters coast for 3 days and poured rain and tornadoes. I don't think the rain was this bad.

The area here had reached it's saturation limit as of yesterday.
We needed some rain. Not this much.

One of the headlines said yesterday, If You've Been Praying For Rain, Please Stop. :)

Sitting on the couch with my back to the window, listening to it pour. My home is not in a flood area, but, stuff happens. :(

This is the worst since Dora in 64'. Less total rain though, went through quicker.

Worst I have ever seen. Can't see the road, under water. They are saying it might slow down raining tomorrow.

Heh, we used to be in a non-flood area.

    Thank you very much, JLA.

I just now heard on Fox that a tornado picked up a woman and her child and threw them 200 feet.

The child lived, the mother died. The child was still in the mothers arms when found. Sad.
