I'm normally disgusted (artistically) with remakes, but this one I'll watch. I don't like Tom Cruise because of his Scientology beliefs, but then again I don't have to live in his house either.
    Eagerly awaiting.

It could be interesting. I'm sure I'll watch it on DVD. Remaking certain movies is a bad idea. Could you imagine if they remade "Stand By Me", or "Goonies"? Those movies came out when I was the age of the characters so they hold a certain magic for me.

    It's going to be garbage.

I on the other hand love Tom Cruise for the fact that in Hollywood he stands up for what he believes in even when it isn't popular... I'd much prefer it be the Christian faith he is standing up for, but crazy or not, he has guts.

He is crazy and he pushes his beliefs on others it not guts.John travolta belongs and he dont talk about it.Other than that as long as they don't drift to far away from the 1st one might be ok

If you don't believe your beliefs and ideals are worth encouraging upon others then you need new beliefs. The difference between Tom Cruise and other Hollywood Hacks is that he promotes a set of beliefs that isn't "in" or popular. He isn't on the level with those who work with PETA, or Brad Pitt supporting gay marriage- he is supporting something that he very well knows will damage his career, and he still has the guts to support it.

I will have to watch this. But like Max II I do not like the Scientology stuff. Here is an article that kind of sums all that stuff up.

Whatever guys. I reckon we can all agree that as far as we know the Scientoligists have not flown any planes into any buildings. (at least not intentionally)

I just got done watching the original yesterday, in HD.

I don't need to watch the remake, and probably never will.

I'm thinkin the movie will all depend on who's directing it....A liberal will have an entirely different take than a conservative....

I think the special effects might be cool....the old movie is fine with me...I think I've watched it about 20 times....

but I'll wait till it ends up on tv or dvd....doubt I'll go to the movies to watch it....

Maybe, just maybe I'll watch it on DVD. Remakes generally stink!
