Has anyone here ever used Red Dot powder for .38 special loads? I have always used Bullseye or Unique and am having no luck in finding any locally. I can get some online but I don't want to pay the extra fees charged to ship gunpowder. I have a local store close to me that just received a shipment of Red Dot. Oops! I posted this twice!!! I guess that's better than a double charge in a case!

Tis better to double post than to double charge. ;) :D

Yeah, I loaded some .38spl./Reddot loads a few years back. I can't find my data though. I think it was some wadcutter target rounds.

I looked in my copy of Ken Waters Pet Loads and found some loads that he listed with both cast and jacketed bullets.

If you look on Alliant site listed below you'll find a couple of loads.

I love Red dot for .38 spl and .45 ACP with LSWC's.

    Below are my favorite loads.

Thanks for the replies. I have several reloading books with loads for Red Dot. I just wanted to see if people who tried it liked it.

Red Dot shoots fine in a .38.
3.5 grains, 158 grain LRN is what I load.
