Do I need any special paperwork to transport a Reising 50 from Kentucky to Indiana and back to Kentucky? I'm not selling it, just showing it to a friend.

You should probably ask this in the NFA forum.

Maybe we'll have one of the mods move it.

Yes the Reising 50 is a Curio and Relic, but it is still an NFA weapon that has to be registered as well.

While I'm sure there are people that collect them via CRFFL, most of the Crufflers I know mainly only collect non-NFA firearms, so we wouldn't be the ones to ask. The guys who own and shoot Class 3 machine guns are the ones to ask.

Yes. There is a special form needed to transport a machine gun, or a short barreled rifle, or a short barreled shotgun out of state. This form is not needed for an AOW, and I don't think it is needed for a silencer (but the memory might be wrong on that one). You need to send in a form 5320. http://test.titleii.com/5320-20.html There is a block on there for "reason". If moving permanently, you say, "permanent move". If just temporarily, then put "shooting competition". You need to give them an address of where it will be stored while out of state, and the dates when it will be out of state.

This form is usually pretty quick to get, unlike a transfer that can take months.
