I bought a new barrel for my new G30 and I am looking to reload for it. DO I need to make any adjustments to the load recipes to compensate for the shorter G-30 barrel? or do i just start with the light loads and work up ignoring the difference in barrel length?

A shorter barrel as compared to ?? You may find that a slightly faster burning powder may give you more consistent results. I wouldn't be worried about loads worked up in a 1911 or a H&K A5 being safe for your Glock. I would try to work up some various loads though as it will most likely find it's sweet spot at a different charge wt or even powder.

Worm be right on with the faster powder being better for short barrels.

I have a ruger SRH alaskan in .44 mag. It has a 2.5 inch barrel and I load magnum loads with hodgdons titegroup. Im still getting 1200 with 240 gr JHPs and a complete powder burn and really good accuracy at 25 yds.
