Anyone here have one of these. It has a 20" heavy barrel and a Houge soft touch overmolded stock. I saw one today and am really debating myself hard on if I should take the plunge and go for it. I may be able to do $650 out the door on it.

Whats your all thoughts on this. I have a Leupold 2x7 scope I can mount on it.

I have a friend that just bought one and we took it to the range last Saturday to sight it in. It is a very good shooter right out of the box very accurate and he has not touched a thing on it yet. It will lose some velocity due to the barrel being shorter but that is it. I shot the rifle and it was very comfortable.

If your shots are going to be under 500 meters it will be a fine rifle.

Well I broke down and ordered the gun from Bud's Gunshop this evening. I can probably expect to pick it up at my FFL early next week. Got it for $597 delivered incl shipping insurance. My FFL transfer fee will be $15. I believe I did alright. Now it is time to get me a set of dies and a box of bullets.

I've been checking into the SPS for a long range rifle, more for something to build on if the future, mainly because it comes in a left hand model. The barrel twist rate is 1-12"; definitely work with 168 BTHP and maybe with the 175's.

your a southpaw too! I taught myself to shoot right handed when I was competing with a M1 Garand. Now I can snap in left or right with every weapon system except for the M16.... too much muscle memory built in.

Always nice to find another mutant... I'm starting a conspiracy to subvert the children, make them all left handers and then rule the world. Want in?

I'm with ya.:D Being a lefty and fellow grunt, have you ever fired the M16A1 and have the ejected brass catch the lip of your helmet and land on top of your ear?

At that price I could almost afford one in the next few months. I'd definitely go for the 26" barrel model though...

I agree with you all on the longer barrel but for me the 20" will be just fine. Not many places around here to put off a shot longer than 200 yds. And for a hunting application if I should decide to use it the short length makes it easier for getting around in the West Virginia woods. Anyways I am sure the rifle will be decent out to 400-500 yards if given the opportunity. Much farther would be outside of my skill capability.

Saw the thing about shooting south paw. I shoot south for rifle but right for pistol. Guess I'm all messed up.
