I have a chance to pick up a 95 percent 7400 in 3006 for 450. It looks like its a 70s or early 80s by the stock and the seller is in Cal, I live in Fla so I can not call him for a bit time diff. to get the code date. What do these go for these days?
I'm with Sam on this one. $350 is about as high as I would go. I used to own one, and I loved it as a hunting rifle. I would own another if I wanted one.
We sell them new at about $450.
Not a very popular rifle in the north country due to jamming at extreme temperatures.
Oddly , used in 85 plus condition is quite often sold for the same price as new.
In UNDER 85 condition, $200 - $250.
This is one of those strange animals that can have a used value that depends on the market and not the blue book value.
The sporting goods store I used to work at sold an average of just over 1,000 rifles a year.
Of the Rem model 7400 , maybe two or three a year.
Note, there is a lot of old/new stock out there.
The Rem 7400 has been replaced by the model Rem 750.
