In my experience, shotgun stock usually come in 3 sizes. 410. Slightly larger for 20. And 16 & 12 are the same. Even so, replacing a stock is not always a "Drop in" operation. Often there is some hand fitting required. Even if you have to fit the 12 ga stock to you 16 ga. It should be (if in solid condition) well strong enough.
