Since being burglarized a few months ago, I'm going an inventory for insurace purposes or stuff to sell.
I have a Remington 32 cal rim fire single shot rifle - Model 6. It will take either short or long rifle shells and I have a full box of longs. It does work but hasn't been fired in years. Serial number is S175918. I gave up hunting a long time ago. Other than being a little dusty from sitting in the closet, it looks good. I will probably wind up selling this thing rather than have someone steal it. None of my kids are into hunting or guns so I have no one to leave it to.
Can anyone here give me a ballpark figure as to what it may be worth?

    Lynn

PS: When I finish this closet, I'll have an old double barrel shotgun.

Flayderman's Guide lists value range from $175 for Very Good to $475 for Excellent.

But that seems high for a Model 6 and he lists same range for the Model 4, which was better made and more appealing:
    Early 1900s Sears catalogs listed the Model 4 @ $5.00 and Model 6 @ $3.00

Are you sure it's not a .22, rather than .32?

Bill, they were made in both calibers. "Back in the day" the .32 rimfire was offered as a more powerful alternate in most of the "boys rifles"

I understand, but the OP makes reference to "long rifle shells."

The box of cartridges I have is listed 32 long 80 grain. The rifle is also marked 32 short or long rifle.
