I have a model 552 speedmaster with AH on barrel, which I think makes it manufactured in 1961. Correct me if I am wrong. It is new in box.
I also have a model 1100, modified vent barrel. It also has the AH. I bought both at the same time from the same place. They are both new in box. What would be the value? Thanks
Thank you for your reply. I attend many auctions, and have for years. In recent years I have not seen these guns, even used and somewhat worn (60-80 %), go that cheap. Guns of any kind are going for considerably more than the book values show, especially at auction. I also have a light 20 Browning Belgium made and 12 guage Browning Belgium made new in box. At auction, from what I see in my area these four, new in box, guns will bring $5,000??????? Thanks again for your reply.
I agree that the price seems low on the 1100, but I would think that is really about the top end for the 552.
The 1100 is docked $45 for being pre-Remchoke. And there are a lot of grades of 1100, so it very well could be worth more. We just can't guess that without photos.
Auction is the real price, but you have to accept that if only one person in the crowd wants it, it may sell for $100.
My son is a Remington 1100 nut. He wants everyone he sees. He has an 1100 trap model that was in like new shape. Made in 1969. He got it out the door at Cabelas for under $500. It came with 2 barrels. One trap and one skeet.
