Posting for a friend who wants to sell. Remington Speedmaster .22 lr. Model 241 serial number 114885. Gun is in very nice shape with a few dings in the wood. The receiver and barrel has no rust. Value?

The Model 24 was the US-made version of the little Browning semi-auto, and the 241 is the same with some minor changes. Those are nice old rifles, and there is a fair collector interest for a .22. But they were expensive to make, with the receiver milled out of a single block of steel. Production ended in 1949; its successor was the Nylon 66. I would WAG that one at about $300. It would be more without the wood damage.

Jim's value seems about right for the condition seen.
