This has to be one of the more ridiculous news stories I've seen in a while. This is the kind of reporting that crummy news sources love to use to make all "gun people" look bad/dangerous/etc.

Gun-wielding bird owner causes Pa. school lockdown

YORK, Pa. -- Police say a man using a BB gun to protect his birds from cats led to an elementary school lockdown in Pennsylvania.

York schools Superintendent Sharon Miller said Tuesday that a report of a gun-wielding man outside Alexander Goode Elementary School came in at 8 a.m.

Officers surrounded the building with about a dozen vehicles. Some students cried as they left school, while parents who had heard rumors waited anxiously.

York Police Capt. Wes Kahley says the man was shooting at cats that were attacking pigeons he raises for a living.

Kahley says the man did not commit a crime, but exercised bad judgment.

If no crime was committed, why is it news?

Keep in mind that kids have been kicked out of school for bringing GI Joe action figures to class (little plastic army men), or drawing pictures of firearms.

If there is one thing I cannot stand, it is people who try to ride the fence on every issue that comes up.

bcj, stop beating around the bush and tell us what you REALLY think of the media!

    Hmmm.

On second thought, you better not -
It would be censored for language.

    GREAT posts, guys!
In my day, the KIDS all had guns and no one thought a thing about it.
Now an adult with a bb-gun causes a panic.
What a bunch of limp-wristed pantywastes the population has become.
    Ewww!
    A GUN!!!!!!!!
RUN and HIDE before it SHOOTS someone!
What a world this has become!

I'm not sure what you're trying to say with your "limp-wristed" comment:p:D:D

Now we all know that guns are evil and they can fly around by themselves and kill thousands of people everytime they fire a shot:rolleyes:

If brains were dynamite, most liberals couldn't blow their noses:mad:

With the advent of news 24/7, items that would have not made the 'cut' are used to fill time. The newspapers have followed suit in a effort to keep up.

We could all do with 'less' news, IMHO. (2ยข)

If more people would do this, there would be a lot less scum sucking maggots on the street. Oh, but wait. According to the liberals, it's not the criminal's fault. It's OUR fault for forcing these poor unfortunate individuals into a life of crime. Why should they have to work to get the things they want?

I had a shotgun in my dorm room in college during hunting season but I guess those days are long gone.
