I can't help you with the Spyderco knives other than to say that they are good knives, and have a good name. Welcome to the Forum! I do sometimes carry a folder, but perfer the fixed blade knives. I had a folder close up on me once while using it, bad cuts across my finger. I like the Gerber Big Rock, one of those knives that a lot of things really well.

I had and carried a Spyderco Police Model(all metal) for years until I lost it fishing in Tampa Bay. One of the best knives I ever owned. I would recommend a Spyderco to anyone.

Having owned and used numerous Spydercos over the years (not the Rock Lobster) I can't imagine a bad Spyderco. They make splendid blades.

Spyderco has their own forums. Best place to talk about Spyderco knives. I own a few Spyderco knives. Top notch quality knives.
