Ruger single six

    board917: Sir; pull the hammer back and look. Do you see a long flat piece of metal protecting the 'firing pin' You'll not mistake the piece. "If" its not there you have an 'unmodified' Single Six. You can go to Rugers site and Ruger provides the serial # and age. [date built] Unmodified: call Ruger and ask for a letter on the unit. Letter is free. Helps memorialize for collecting. Do not ever send it back to Ruger; they will update it and as far as a collector piece? Ruger will send the old parts back; The inside of your frame will be marked.
    With the transfer bar, see if your dad kept the original parts. Either way shoot it and enjoy.
    Tried to get plenty of information so this may be garbled alittle.:eek:

    Ruger single six old model
    Got mine in 1964 in Dallas Texas when I was in the sevice. Best 22 I have ever had, would not trade it for eanything.
