S&W .38 SPL

    I have a Smith & WEsson 38 SPL. Markings show serial number as 8D75853 and there is E10 x6713 stamped inside. I would like to get a value on the gun. It's 4" barrel, wooden handle, blue nose.

    Hi Waldrep....welcome to TFF.

    Well, your S&W was made in 1981 and could be either a Model 10, 12, 13, 45, 64, 65, or 547.

    Value depends on which model it is, and on it's condition.

    Can you post a picture of it?

    I will try again to upload a photo. The file was too big and wouldn't attach. I would like to know how to find the model number as I've looked everywhere and only found the numbers I listed.

    Wow! That's the shortest 4" barrel I've ever seen! :)

    Yup.....that's a Model 10, also known as the Military & Police. Yours has the 2" barrel and looks to be in excellent shape.

    Current Blue Book value:

    98% - $275
    95% - $210
    90% - $160

    Yours appears to fall into the 95-98% category.....closer to 98%.
