Excellent dependable rifle. Savage has quickly been gaining a reputation for having the best out of the box accuracy. I for one am a believer
Look at the other models besides the 110. Some very nice guns. They can be had with or without a detachable magazine.
If you decide on one get the new accutrigger. You can read all about it on the Savage website.

I've got one, 30-06.
It'll shoot right with anybody else. Never had a problem with it.

Best out of the box accuracy...bar none. Ugly as a mud fence too...but they shoot very well. I would strongly recommend them...I have more than a few for taht very reason. They outshoot the name brands at less $$$.

Buckwheat. I bought a new 110 FP in .308. Sent it to Ace Systems for an accuracy job and a Sharpshooter trigger. The Savage is a tack driver.
I plan on adding a McMillian A-4 stock soon.

Excellent gun. I have one in a 22/250. Shoots great. I hunt deer, rabbit, coyotes, or boars. Excellent all around gun! Needs a trigger job though.

I also have a .22-250 Savage. Had a Sharpshooter trigger installed in that one too. The worst part on a Savage rifle is the trigger. Replace it and your groups will become smaller.

I polished up the trigger on mine myself and it did wonders for it.
Didn't seem to complicated but I took it slow and easy. Assemble and tried several times before it was the way I like it.

Everyone should remember that trigger work should be done only by a qualified gunsmith. When people start playing with the trigger is when accidental discharges happen.

I wish I knew if they will fit the older models or only the new guns they are installed on from the factory?

Piggy, I think Fred Moreo at Sharpshooter Supply is producing triggers for Savage. Also, Kelly McMillian is producing some stocks. Savage is in the ballgame in tactical rifles.
My Sharpshooter trigger adjusts from 14 oz.
