looking to find the year of manufacture and maybe a value.

I have a savage 25-35 serial # 71.922, it has a carving on one side of stock
of a moose, and on other side a indian chief. Has knurling on forward end of
buttstock around comb and front forstock is also knurled. Gun is in great shape, never been refinished. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

To the purist unless original the carvings on the stock will most likely hurt its value. Also we need to see pictures to provide you any value estimates that makes sense. I will say that model 99 in 25-35 is very desirable.
