Thanks for allowing me to join the group!
I just picked up a Savage model 1899 (Stamped on the top of the barrel)
It is a 30-30, with a 20" round barrel. The serial # is 2776**. (I place it, as made in 1925)
It does not have a saddle ring, or holes for one. It does not have a barrel band.
It has the Brass Round Counter on the side.
The front sight is; white metal blade in a dove tail.
The rear sight is; a flat top sporting. (missing the elevator, & I would love to have one)
The stock is Plain Straight (not Schnabel), & the butt is Steel Carbine.
It has the smooth grip (not the pistol grip), It does not have any checkering.
The gun is in good condition, with 90% blue remaining, no rust or pitting, function is smooth, stock has a fine 1" long crack on top at the front, with normal handling marks on the wood.
The bore is clean, with good spiral.
Thanks for your help
