Does anyone know if it’s save to use electrolysis rust removal on a shotgun barrel? The process seems simple enough and effective on U-Tube, but no one was using the process on fire arms.

I have not done this, but there are TONS of articles on the net advising that this works well and is safe.

Protect the bore! Not all electrolysis processes are the same. Make sure you use the proper chemicals, choosing one which will not attack the base metal.

Read up on it very carefully, follow the instructions exactly and you will be fine. Charge ahead without using the proper chemical mixture and voltage/amps and you can ruin a gun in short order.

edm can be used externally if you know what your doing , but most places have a "all care taken but no guarentee" type policy if its deep , rust can go way deeper than it looks ..

As for chemicals all you need is baking soda and water. Ground goes on the part you want cleaned. Positive goes on sacrificial piece. Get them crossed and you dissolve the part you want cleaned.
