Yesterday I went to my local gun shop with a friend and asked the shop owner which was better a rifle Ruger mini-30 or a AK-47.
He said the AK-47 was better because it can shoot steel case ammo and the Ruger mini-30 can't shoot steel case ammo without upgrading the firing pin to handle the hard primer on the berdian primed steel case ammo.
I'm going to give you the same answer I did with your other steel case ammo question, I used to own a mini-30 and the only ammo I ever fired in it was Wolf ammo. I did not know at the time that there was any other kind.
The AK was designed to fire any ammo so the chamber tolerances are not as "refined" at the mini-30.
The main issue with steel cased ammo is not the primer.
Furthermore; Using the term "better" means nothing without explaining by what criteria such an evaluation was made. The AK-47 is a cheap Communist rifle made with a lot of stamped sheet metal parts. They are made to function even if dropped into the mud and never cleaned. AFIK, the Ruger is made like the M1 Garand, meaning precision-machined parts. If I were to choose, I would choose the Ruger, and never purchase any steel-cased ammo.
Sounds like somebody wanting to sell you ammo or a new gun.
