I have been looking for a low 2 1/2 x fixed power scope. I find mostly items labeled 'shotgun scope'. The term 'shotgun scope' is ambiguous to me. For a timber gun at 100 yards would a shotgun scope do the job on a 3006? Bring a lunch. Confusion to our enemeys.
I hope this answers your question..a shotgun scope came into being for low light hunting with a "slug" gun used for hunting mostly deer in brush. the scope usually helps gather available light for better targeting at ranges up too 35 yds. as for use at 100 yds..maybe but doubtfull.
