how much of this are you guys starting to see?

I only found out about it a few months ago, while reloading some range brass:eek:

it took awhile but I determined there was a bad problem with some of the brass and did some research and found out that small primer 45 acp is out there and here to stay

I am seeing it now in about 4 different head stamps.

is this something that all manufacturers are eventually going to?

Probably here to stay. And yes, they are a bit of a pain in the butt to work with.
It initially started with the non-toxic primered rounds that they started to make for use on indoor ranges. Those primers were made in small only so some makers started making small-primer brass for rounds that normally used to use larges (like the .45ACP).

I don't have very many yet but they work just fine.
I just segregate them out from the large-primer brass and let em build up until I've got enough to make up a batch of "range ammo" for plinking. I'll keep that batch separate from the regular stuff so I don't have to sort as many the next time around.

As for if all .45ACP brass goes to small primer...
I doubt it but who knows.

I look at all the brass I pick up/use. I don't try to process small primer brass along with large primer brass, so I have no problems. Works for me...

Just separate them from the rest and prime them separately. They can be used with the same loads as the regular stuff from that point..

I bought some Federal 230 FMJ that are small primer. Needed the jacketed to break in a new Kimber and that's what Wally World had in stock. No big deal I will separate the casings and prime them before I switch from SP to LP on my 550B.
