Into the 2nd. day of open spring season, for gobblers and till noon only in NY. Started out to be a miserable day with high winds and rain. Close to 8 am I had moved into a corner of the woods where a lower part of the land meets up with a hedgrow and another field. A pair exited a woodlot about 250 yards up after the wind backed down just a bit, so I worked some calling and brought them closer. You see I knew where this tom was from last year, out on posted woodland. He stumped me both seasons last year. And my mission was to convince him to come into where I was. About 1/4 to 9 I got him to cross the corner of the feild and come into my decoys. He brought his buddie along. Had the shot from 30 - 15 yards in, took the time and enjoyed that! What a game it was..
    Slammin' ;)

Ahh, what a nice hunt, and a nice bird...I'm still looking forward to doing some turkey hunting one day.

Thanks for sharing the story, it's the next best thing to being there.

Nice Bird, I got one monday, just an average turkey, 18 lbs, 10" beard, 1'' spurs. I feel that any gobbler is a good one. South
