Has anyone ever heard of Springfield Armory 1911s of having a 2 piece barrel before? When I was at the shop picking up my Micro Compact the sales guy helping me told me of a note that the smith put on the work order ticket. The smith said that my Micro Compact had a 2 piece barrel, he also said that sometimes you get an S/A 1911 with a 2 piece barrel that wont shoot for nuttn and sometimes you get one that is awesome. Due to his experience with a Govt. G.I. .45 that he couldnt get to group worth a hoot @ 10 yards so he dropped in an old colt barrel he had laying around and it shot like a dream.

:) Yes, Springfield did use some 2 piece barrels, but then so did a lot of other makers.
