Seems like my groups were more consistent this time around. Tried to keep both eyes open this time. Lining my front sight up over the target. Squeezing the trigger. Feel like I am beginning to get a little better.
I'm not the greatest shot, but I just thought I'd show my progress.
And just as a side note, I think the ammo I am using may not be the best. As you can tell, the targets where I shot the wadcutters were much better.
Keep shooting that great looking pistol. I don't find accuracy easy to come by especially when I don't shoot a lot. So much to keep in mind to do it well and it takes a lot of practice to get that muscle memory established and then keep shooting to maintain it. I have found the 1911 a difficult pistol for me to master but it is so much fun.
Just focus on the fundamentals and your shooting will improve. Focus on your grip, sight picture(front sight focus), and trigger squeeze and you'll be on your way to being a better shot. Oh, and dont forget to feed your habit.
As Todd can attest, the weather in Ohio has been so up and down that it is difficult to plan for a day at the range. The older I get, the more the "Fair Weather Sportsman" I become.

Yeah that's March Madness for ya. We were having days a few weeks ago where it got up into the 50s. Then it got cold again. Today we got some snow. None of it stuck. But still. I want spring!
I too find my A-1 performs really well with the 200gr SWC, my groups compare identical to yours between the 230's and 200's. And after alot of reloading and load testing thats what I feed it now, makes me feel like a pretty good shot some days.
