I was looking at some 1911 Springfields the other day and they all said made in Brazil. The Springfield I have says made in USA. When did Springfield start making them in Brazil? Since they are made in Brazil now, are they still a reliable pistol? Still good quality?

And the XD and XDm are products made in Croatia. As fas as I know their M1 and M1a are made in the USA. Springfield frames for there 1911 are made in Brazil but are good frames.

Wonder why not? I have guns that were made in:
Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brasil, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czecheslovakia, Deutschland, Espania, Italia, Japan, People's Republic of China, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States, and Yugoslavia. Most of 'em are pretty damn good guns.

Does it make some type of political statement to not buy guns that were made in other countries? Glock. That's Austrian, right?
